[March 24] China Business Summit at Emory

Emory GCC and Emory Ascend, a Pan-Asian business professional society, are proud to present the China Business Summit (“China on the Crossroads of Change”) on Saturday, March 24, 2012 in the Math and Science Center Auditorium E208 at Emory University. The event is tentatively scheduled to last from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The Business Summit is expected to bring an array of professional views on China’s business environment and thus facilitate in-depth conversations between university students and professionals. Currently, we have one keynote speech, two panel discussions, and a networking session lined up for the agenda. Breakfast and lunch will be catered.

More detailed information on featured speakers and panelists as well as specific topics will be provided in the coming weeks. This event is sponsored by the China Research Center, and co-sponsored by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Offices and the Emory University East Asian Studies Program.

[Feb 8] “Crossing Hennessy” 月滿軒尼詩 Movie Screening

The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, one of our sponsors, is holding a free movie screening of the award-winning “Crossing Hennessy” <月滿軒尼詩> on February 8, 2012, at 8:00 PM in the Cecil B. Day Chapel of the Carter Center. Directed by Ivy Ho (岸西) and starring Jacky Cheung (張學友) and Tang Wei (湯唯), Crossing Hennessy” <月滿軒尼詩> is the winner of Best Screenplay and Film of Merit in the 2011 Hong Kong Film Critics Society Awards. Now that a new semester is starting, the Emory GCC exec members are working hard to make one of our largest projects possible–the China Business Summit which will be held in March in Atlanta, GA. [Nov 30] GCC Student Panel Discussion

Emory GCC will be holding its first student panel discussion on Chinese Pop Culture. Come join us for a casual, interesting discussion and get your questions concerning Chinese culture answered! Topics will include new trends in Chinese theatre, TV shows, and the rising “Zhai” culture. Student panelists who will be present include Wencong Chen (the founder and president of the Emory Chinese Theatre Club), David Fisherman (a Chinese major who has studied in Peking University and traveled extensively around China), and Fei Ni (an actor in the recently shown Chinese play “Rhinoceros in Love”).
